Getting Involved
Here is a brief overview of some ideas and plans on how to further develop North River and to realise the vision for this special place:
Adventure/Survival/Bushcraft Camps.
Family Camps
- An abundance of composted horse manure - use: vegetable gardening.
These are just some of the ideas we have had, as a starting point. The important part is getting a group together and involved in the planning of the development of the ideas forward from this point.
From our view point, all we want to do is to have the ability to keep doing what we have been doing here and further develop that while sharing the benefits with a wider community. We are wanting to keep the momentum of what we have begun here going and see that the time to act is now.
We only want to be an equal part of the group. All that we would ask is that the way the group develop and run the property has integrity for people and the environment and is sustainable and works to the essence of the what has already been developing on the property over the years.
- To gather together a group of people with skills, talents, resources, ideas or capital that want to become involved in and further develop a vision for the North River Community as place to come and develop human potential.
- As a group decide on the ownership of the resources of the property, as shareowners, co-operative, collective or other ways.
- As a group develop a plan for building different types of guest accommodation at North River for people to immerse themselves into the place and the way of living. This could be holiday home type accomodation on the 'Horse Block' and/or retreat type accommodation for the 'Bush Block' and/or bunkhouse type accomodation.
- As a group explore other ideas for different activities based in the natural environment either with or without horses that contribute to the main theme of developing human potential.
- Examples of other ideas that could be possible using the available natural resources:
