A Little History
For over 20 years horses have been
interacting with people at the North River property and it is safe to say in
that time we have learnt a lot about horses and even amazingly more about
people.
Initially opening in 1990 as a horse trekking operation (North River Treks) where at its peak had 3,500 people riding annually on treks ranging from one hour to two days on the North River property and surrounding area.
More recently the North River operation has developed into the North River Horse and Humanship Centre, where education is as important as the recreation with horses. These days you are more likely to see people here more interested in the interaction between them and the horse and learning about themselves from that, rather than just learning to ride or going for a ride. More and more overseas visitors are coming to Noth River Horse & Humanship Centre, who are interested in an intensive time here, to play with horses and discover themselves and enjoy the stunning nature from horse back as part of their North River experience.
Other people that come now are just as likely to be a business leader or a team, a school group, a couple for relationship development or even an individual person for coaching or therapeutic help.
Not that you will see these programmes going on looking in from the outside; they are customised and private for those involved.
Of course we still offer programmes for horse lovers, all based around the Humanship Horsemanship principles, which sets to change the paradigms of the horse world.
